The series is tailored to small business owners who were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and recognize the value of social media, specifically Instagram. You will learn how to create every component of a successful social media post. We will cover account setup, how to choose images that perform well, how to write compelling captions, how to select strategic hashtags, and how to authentically engage with your community. With a focus on Instagram, the series will include platform-specific details for maximizing your content's reach, including strong examples that illustrate each element of a successful post. This is webinar 2 of 4. Session 1: Setting up your social media account --> Choose the most appropriate account type and mix of social media channels for their marketing. Label the anatomy of an Instagram post and understand the importance of each component Session 2: Choosing & creating engaging images --> Successfully find or photograph engaging images by implementing three tips: focusing the image, lifting the lens, and using natural light. Understand how to save and "regram" relevant content. Define and encourage user-generated content on the platform Session 3: Writing captions: Telling your storying & inspiring action --> Understand the textual components of an Instagram post: alt text, captions, and hashtags. Be able to brainstorm engaging and relevant post ideas using four post prompts. Define and write an effective call to action (e.g. Click the link in our bio.) Session 4: Best practices before and after publishing on social media --> Distinguish among key Instagram metrics (e.g. shares, saves, likes, etc.). Decide how often they want to post on social media (i.e. posting frequency). Understand the role of Instagram posts, stories, and reels. Understand how to effectively engage with comments, DMs, and reactions ABOUT THE PRESENTERS Laura Riley writes thought leadership content about the world of work—publishing articles about employee wellbeing, workplace culture, and HR tech. With a focus on intentional content, she also helps organizations brainstorm topic ideas and create strategic editorial calendars. Rah Riley is a creative strategist and project manager organizing systems for growing businesses and producing professional development workshops for marketing teams. After a decade in magazines and marketing, she now centers her work around climate action, elevating the voices of feminine leaders for the protection of the planet.
