Facilitated by Western WI WBC
Topic: Business Basics

It is inevitable that our personal identity gets intertwined with our business. Although this is what makes our business unique from anyone else and brings great joy when our business is successful, it can create internal adversity in times when our business is facing hardship, or we must make an objective decision such as selling the business. We will discuss strategies to make the unavoidable times of risk and failures in a business less personal and even move toward trying to embrace these experiences! ABOUT SARA BOWE Sara grew up in Chippewa Falls. She joined the Minnesota Air National Guard and completed her degree in education after returning from her basic military training. She had the opportunity to work as an elementary school teacher in the Eau Claire Area School District and, although she loved teaching, she noticed an increased need for mental health support in her students, in the community, and in the military. She deployed overseas in 2017 and, upon returning home, attended UW Stout for a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She became a Licensed Professional Counselor and opened Uplift Counseling Center in 2020.
